The other day I organized an apple picking excursion with some of my family members.  It was a gorgeous day, everyone had off and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend it then outdoors, with family, pickin’ some galas, red delicious and fujis.  Totally one of my favorite fall activities.  I was so excited I even had an apple crumb cake recipe picked out.

Weather. Check. Great Company. Check. Apples. Missing.

We went to two different Apple farms with my family and NEITHER of them had apples.  How could there be no apples?!  I’m here with my 80 something year old grandparents ready to pick some apples, where are the apples?!  Turns out that apppparreentttttlllyyyyyyyyy September is apple picking season and the trees have already been picked through……………..unbelievable.

Anyways, we still had a good time, bought some squash, sweet potatoes and mums and it was fun hanging with the fam and Stevie of course.  Snapped some pics too, hope you enjoy.

Oh, and aren’t my grandparents so cute?!!

Arenal Region, Costa Rica

Arenal Region, Costa RicaThis August my family took a vacation to Costa Rica.  I’ve wanted to travel to the country for years and was ecstatic when I found out that would be our destination.  We split the trip into two different parts: volcano & beach.

For the first half of our trip we traveled to Arenal Volcano, located in the north western part of Costa Rica.  It is an active volcano in the La Fortuna district and it is incredibly gorgeous!

It was by far one of my favorite family vacations because there was just so much to do.  We were only in the region for a few days and limited our excursions to zip-lining through the jungle and rappelling down waterfalls.  A total adventure, what not to love?!

In the area you can also go hiking, horseback riding, cycling, rafting and much more.  This is a great vacation if you want to be active but if you prefer to relax with a book and a massage..or two, you’ve also come to the right area. There are several beautiful hotels and spas in the area with natural hot springs and luscious greens and colorful fauna.  And of course, FOOD.  The area is known for it’s steak and tilapia so dig in!

The Boyfriend Weekender

Blazer: Forever XXI, Shirt: Bogosse, Jeans: Forever XXI, Purse: Theresa Kathryn, Shoes: Charles Albert via Marshalls, Sunglasses: A.J. Morgan via Urban Outfitters

So.. I am obsessed with this Bogosse shirt.  I sold it all summer long to men I was styling and really wanted one for myself.  Steve ended up wearing it to the wedding we went to in Mexico and I’ve wanted to borrow it since.

The shirt is 100% linen and the pink color can compliment any skin tone.  I especially love the paisley accents in the cuffs and collar.  I paired the shirt with this blazer from Forever XXI and a pair of oxfords for a chic and extremely comfortable weekend outfit.

Dig into your boyfriend’s closets ladies, there might be some great finds!

The Colors of the Bus go PoP.PoP.PoP!

Dress: Cynthia Steffe via T.J. Maxx, Shirt: Public Library, Shoes: Franco Sarto, Necklace: Gifted from friend, Sunglasses: B.P. , Scarf as headband: Forever XXI

I was driving around Staten Island with Steve and found this bus by the waterfront, not far from the Staten Island ferry.  An artist’s work in progress, I was ecstatic that I was wearing this bright Cynthia Steffe dress to match the vibrant colors of the bus.
